Our Mission
We at InterOccupy seek to foster communication between individuals, Working Groups and local General Assemblies, across the movement. We do this in the spirit of the Occupy Movement and general assemblies which use direct democratic and horizontal decision-making processes in service to the interests of the 99%.
We are currently hosting weekly conference calls using the Maestro conference call technology that allows up to 500 people to interact productively on phones. Maestro allows for smaller group breakout sessions so people with shared interests can connect in the middle of a large call.
- For more information about upcoming calls, please visit our Upcoming Call Page.
- For upcoming Mass Actions, please visit our Occupy Actions page

Committees of Correspondence / Inter-Occupation Communication Working Groups
InterOccupy is a collaborative effort being maintained by Committees of Correspondence / Inter-Occupation Communications Working Groups from local occupations. If you are with a Communications Working Group, please visit our Local InterOcc Work Group Page for instructions on how to get more involved with us, or simply to let us know who you are so that we can help others network with your occupation.
We look forward to working together to ensure these communication channels remain strong and adhere to the open, transparent, and democratic nature of our movement.

>>>>>New InterOccupy Announcement List<<<<<
We are migrating our announcement list to a Google Group. If you would like to continue to receive email from InterOccupy, including updates about our conference calls and important announcements related to the Occupy movement, please join our new announcements list by going to:
http://groups.google.com/
We will continue to send messages to both lists for a while, but please join the Google Group now because we will be phasing out of using this current list. Joining the Google Group will become the only way to stay up to date with happenings at InterOccupy.
>>>>>Resources and Announcements Sections<<<<<
We have two new sections on InterOccupy.org that will give you even more inter-occupation interaction than before. We now have Announcements and Resources. These will be a place to post shared resources and announcements
that pertain to the whole Occupy movement. The first shared resource we have is an exciting one! During the November 17th Day of Action, an #Occupy “Bat Signal” was projected onto the Verizon building in New York City. NYC has shared the files and instructions on how you can have a similar presentation in your city.

>>>>>Committees of Correspondence / Inter-Occupation Communications Working Groups<<<<<
We are actively looking for Committees of Correspondence / Inter-Occupation Communications Working Groups to join us in maintaining the lines of communication at InterOccupy. We are also starting a roster of Local InterOcc Work Groups to make it easier for all of us in the movement to connect to individuals and working groups across occupations. We invite InterOcc working groups and similarly purposed work groups) to visit the following page to see instructions on how to better connect with us.

I think this is excellent. It is a good medium for networking groups, and individuals, across the nation and around the world. I think I am going to sign up on the google group.

We represent the 99%+ and obviously not everyone we represent realises its “social status”… and the enslavering position it’s stuck in.

I applaud the sentiment and yet fear the centralization of control of occupy with the organization of inter-occupy. The government and Wall Street want to control occupy and it is likely this group is their brainchild, and if it isn’t you can bet they have operatives involved with it.
It is far better for small autonomous groups to carry out local actions without reporting up to a central organization. The fact a central structure exists necessitates that selected people must coordinate and control central operations such as the conference calls. Who selects them? Who consents to their selection? No one should. They should not exist.
I feel that occupy’s strength rests with civilized anarchy, as proven to have worked in the local camps.
I was on one of these interoccupy calls and all I heard was a major priority concern of courting the mass media – the media owned and operated by the one percent. They want you to tell them what you are up to. I can see the value of inter-occupy as a source to dissemination information downward but not a place for local groups to inform others of local actions before hand. Remember, big brother is watching and listening and probably running inter-occupy directly or indirectly. It is what they do.

after listening in on a few of these calls I can see where it is helpful for people to connect. the focus seems always to be on upcoming actions and there is very little rehash of past actions or focus on results. this needs to be addressed. these calls can serve a useful purpose but they can also be mind-numbing and are no substitute for getting out there and meeting people at an action. it is so easy to hide behind your computer…
