Occupy New Haven faces potential eviction at noon, Wednesday, March 14, 2012.
The Occupy New Haven camp has called for any and all people to come to the encampment on the green to support the continued presence of the occupation. The occupiers encourage people to join for a “festival” of support, including music and drumming, sports and games, and food. The event begins at 9a.m., Wednesday, March 14, on the green at the corner of College St. and Elm St. in downtown New Haven.
The encampment which has been New Haven’s hub for activism and a symbol of economic and social injustice for over 150 days faces eviction following a notice from the city. The notice declares that “Wednesday, March 14, 2012 is the last day tents, other structures and any other such materials will be permitted to be on the New Haven Green lawfully.”
Occupiers will hold their ground, themselves declaring in an open letter to the city of New Haven (included in full after the article) that, “We, the activists of Occupy New Haven, refuse to vacate the Upper Green or dismantle the camp. Our presence is not a camping trip. Being in solidarity with the global Occupy movement, our presence is a visual testament to the growing class inequality present in our city, nation and world.”

STAND UP for our Jewish brothers, everywhere. The time has come to show support for people that just want to get along, and are tired of being pushed along and scapegoated for the world’s problems. Support the Jews! They are the frontline fighters of the evil we see.
