In solidarity with occupy education, UCSC has voted to strike March 1st as part of the national day of action for education. All schools are invited to participate in the day of action in what ever form they choose, K-12, community and state colleges, and universities.
We are having a hard strike March 1st so that no one can get to work and the campus must shut down. In the front of the campus we are setting up a tent university and an encampment, to continue after the day of action has ended.
We are putting a call out to anyone who would like to take part in our tent university, teach workshops, come out and strike/occupy, or anyone who is willing to donate supplies.

Would love to coordinate this event with Houston’s occupation as a show of solidarity. Who’d be best to contact about that?

Pay me $100 per class on this day, or get the hell out of my way. I am not okay with people wasting my time and money. I will be going to school.

I’m paying for my classes and I would appreciate the ability to be able to attend them. I love that you are protesting, I respect it, but I have a right to the education I paid for, and you are infringing on that right if you block the entrances to campus. It is logistically impossible for every class to be held at the base of campus.
