Demand for InterOccupation communication services using IntertOccupy’s Maestro Conference call technology grew steadily in the closing months of 2011.  We are actively developing a growing team of Call Facilitators and Technical Assistants to help support more productive and creative connections between individuals, work groups and local General Assemblies across the Occupy Movement.

TRAINING ON THE MAESTRO CONFERENCE CALL SYSTEM

Each week for the foreseeable future InterOccupy will hold Basic and Advanced classes  on call facilitation and technical assistance FOR the Maestro Conferencing System on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6pm Pacific, respectively.

Basic Maestro 101: Wednesday, 6PM Pacific, 9PM Eastern (2 hours)

The basic training is intended for those who wish to be facilitators and tech assistants on Maestro calls.  It covers the preparation and procedures for conducting calls, an overview of the Maestro system, practice on the Maestro simulator, managing stacks and polls, controlling the microphone, and beginning and ending a call.

Advanced Maestro 201: Friday, 6PM Pacific, 9PM Eastern (2 hours)

The advanced  training is for those who wish to serve as Primary Technical Assistants for calls.  It covers call discipline, complete details regarding the Maestro console, capturing contact info, forming and rectifying breakout groups, customizing information, and emergency procedures.  Technical Assistants will work with an experienced technical assistant on a call before managing calls alone.  Primary Technical Assistants will gain the skills necessary to seamlessly assume facilitator duties during calls, should the need arise.

Get a Head Start!

Maestro has good resources on their site that will help you get up to speed, especially for a smaller and fairly straightforward call.  We suggest watching the videos on “quick start,” using the conductor’s interface and basic breakout groups, and practicing on the simulator.   These resources can be found here: http://myaccount.maestroconference.com/support.

Another  good idea is  to practice using the Maestro Conference Simulator:
