Continuity. Having events that happen simultaneously,

Does anyone have a project that could be applied nationally? Dick from Raleigh, Soap boxing without words, use my expression to describe how I feel about Occupy itself. Sad, happy, grieving, hoping to connect the emotional state of mind to Occupy, not meme, its authentic expression,

wheat, street art, chalk stencils. Reclaim advertising, for people over profits. Occupy Ad space. Take over the physical environment to change the way people look at things, relate to the movement.

Distribute everywhere, limited number, replicate easily nationally but refined. Messaging and Images.

Black and Wall Street banner in New york. Create Occupy font, that people could download. Take over Typography. The way we communicate. Oswald.

Fonts, people love them, similarities to be found. Open source part of the movement to want to share, participate and democratic contributions. Same family of design, it would have a sense of continuity.

There is support to distribute centralized images and stencils, color the US. 8 major cities to do a stencil campaign, impact it could have.

Corrine, It would be awesome to get the messages out, run up to election. Candidates will be driving the way we feel, we need to reclaim our emotions with our politics, and change the message. Not a compromised message. Change the status quo looks at politics.

May 1. April 4. Organize something small for MLK Vietnam Vietnam Riverside Church speech. Big and small demo’s, design, filming where we re give the speech.

A major strategist was telling Republicans not to talk about capitalism, government spending-government waste, jobs-careers, the mainstream language is not the same language occupy is speaking.

History playing a role. Getting students involved, MLK is one of many, but there are so many people who have contributed to our history. Certain weight, recognize who came before us, April 4, going forward to continue to use history to tell a story. Recognizing where we have been and where we are going. Indefinite. Creates a unified messaging, recognizing our own holidays.

Impact, when its multi/international splash. Map of 400 places, and the proof that we did it together and they we are organized. Dates we are mapping out, plot a story out of the campaign, tie it into history. National Direct Action Page, Artismyoccupation.org. Emails for direct action.

BREAKOUT GROUPS

Performing Artists Gp notes

1.  Soap box w/o words

This is made-up on the spot, with some prior intention.  It uses some limited words to ‘intro’ what is ‘IN’ the performer and then state Words Are Not Enough to Express… please notice what goes on within yourself as you watch & listen.  The intent is for the performer to ‘find’ what is inside himself and to learn from it… in front of an audience.  Forms are open, e.g. I use singing in a made-up language, toning/wailing, druming, silence, dance/movement, stillness/body shapes, any or all interspersed with words as they may come.  Forms come from www.InterPlay.org a national arts expression community that comes from a place of playfulness and self-discovery routed in acknowledging the wisdom of the body.

2.  Occupy Food Supply (not performance, not discussed)

3.  Corporate not paying fair taxes. Perf Group “Tax Dodgers”

Occupy group dressed as baseballl players show up and perform various events e.g. skits with players doing things like batting, fielding, photo ops with moderator setting these up.

4.  Gesture Choir

Used as a flash mob. Simple instruction and little or no practicing.  One person speaks and is animated in doing so.  Choir of 10 to 15 people stand behind speaker in a triangle and duplicate exactly every gesture made by speaker.  If noisey choir can also mic check the speaker.  Members can take turns speaking/singing, etc..  Choir can assemble and disburse and reappear in another spot easily.  Intent is to do 5 minute appearances on private property where speech is still free but presence can be controlled.  This is an InterPlay form.

5.  Dance to Express

Subject example “transfer of wealth away from middle to wealthy.  Commission celeberties to dance on behalf of this or other purposes which show how they feel via dance.

Other suggestion, get children of people going through hardships of economic disaster to express themselves.
