We are proud to announce that on Friday December 2nd through Sunday December 4th we will be hosting the first State-Wide General Assembly for “Occupy Tennessee” in an effort to increase the level of
Solidarity between all of the Occupations taking place in Tennessee and in surrounding areas. We encourage anyone, from anywhere, be it locally, nationally, or globally to come out and participate in this event. We ask that you stay and camp for the event however Hotels and accommodations are always available and close by.
During this event we will be hosting many Teach-Ins and Work-Shops that could be very helpful to you all back at your Occupations. To name a few of the Work-Shops we will be hosting, LiveStream, Media, Legal, Arts and Culture, Information Technology and Security, Out Reach, Direct Action and many more. During this General Assembly we are hoping that a proposal will come forth for a “State-Wide Solidarity Action” of some sort, and will be testing the waters on this proposal to see if we can achieve State Wide Consensus on a common goal.
We are requesting that each Occupation send a group of delegates to attend this event so that we can all educate ourselves and learn from our experiences. All of our Resources are extended to you in an effort to raise awareness of this global movement and our common goals. We hope to see you all soon. This is the way forward for the 99%. The plan to form a National General Assembly with delegates coming from every congressional district creates a parallel congress. It would be in essence a watchdog… with teeth. The NGA would be the voice of the 99% grassroots.
