FOR WHO: All college students.

PURPOSE: Occupy Colleges is an organization in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street, which has become a haven for university activists around the country. This call is open to all college students interested in Occupy Wall Street, fighting against tuition hikes and student loan issues.

a. Press – Send stories, guest bloggers
b. General Coordination

B. We need help from you… Natalia
1. National facilitators -different positions
a. Copy Contributors – Responsible for finding 3-5 article daily that relate to Occupy, Student debt and general student issues.
b. Bloggers- we need as many people as possible to write about there experiences with Occupy and to write about upcoming events.
c. Media facilitation- Help with media interviews and responding to interview inquires.
d. Communication facilitation – help monitor the Occupy Colleges gmail account and phone number – help create an Occupy Colleges handbook for new college occupies. Help with general coordination.

C.  Jan 19 – UC Regents Meeting – Natalia
1. Discuss the events that led up to violence and the violence that took place on #J19
2. Possible NATIONAL direct action this coming week to show solidarity with UC Students

D. March 1 – March on Education – Guido
1. We need a committee to help with promotions.
2. Discuss different ways you can participate at your school
a. rally – sit-in — teach in – break out groups – walk out etc.
3. Sign up at occupycolleges.org

E. Petition Working group – Updates – Natalia
1.We need emails and we need to get on this asap – the idea is to coordinate with the March 1st group
2. Ideas for the language for the petition
3. Consensus on using whitehouse.gov

F. Handbook working group – Status -
1.  Who would like to set up the google doc so everyone can contribute?

G. When in Feb would you like to have teach-ins? -Guido
1. It would be great to settle on 2-3 days in February
