InterOccupy’s Weekly Monday Night General Call
We are currently hosting several weekly conference calls that connect occupiers with shared interests. Our General Call is every Monday night and is open to everyone. We use the Maestro conference call technology that allows up to 500 people to interact productively on phones. Maestro allows for smaller group breakout sessions so occupiers with shared interests can connect in the middle of a large call.
After some featured Occupy Movement announcements call participants are invited to share information, ask for support, or make other requests. The second half of the call participants identify priority topics of interest and talk with others on one of those subjects in small group breakouts. At the end of the call participants can stay on longer for informal conversations.

Publish Your Call Announcements Before the Call
There isn’t enough time to hear detailed announcements from everyone on the call so InterOccupy provides everyone the opportunity to publish their announcements on this shared google document. A link is provided so everyone can take a look before, during and after the call.

I think this (WE) are a wonderful movement — but we seem to be moving in all kinds of different directions. I would like to see us spend time on clarifying our common purpose and vision (of what life will be like when we are successful in serving our purpose). If we had that clarity, then all of our goals, objectives and action plans we be coherent (they would hang together). [Bill Gellermann, ]

Sorry to miss out on this upcoming one, but wanted to get in a quick word about a cool online event that’s ending exactly when this call is starting!
MONDAY, LIVE, 8PM Eastern & 5PM Pacific! http://bit.ly/occupyheinbergOccupyEducated.org Presents:Online Interactive Q&A between Occupiers everywhere and resource depletion expert/early Occupy supporter Richard Heinberg, author of popular occupy books, “The End of Growth” (on our primer list) and “The Party’s Over”!
Please click here to Facebook share or Tweet it out, post on your Occupy’s page, and tell everyone you know who’s interested in the root causes of the systemic mess we face!
Use/share this link for the Live Q&A: http://bit.ly/occupyheinberg
Sample Tweet/Post:
MONDAY, 8PM EST & 5 Pacific: Live Interactive Interview w/ author Richard Heinberg! http://bit.ly/occupyheinberg/ @occupyeducated #ows #occupy #books
More Info: Participants can read the book for FREE here “The End of Growth”
Then, at 8PM Eastern, 5PM Pacific, Heinberg will be discussing live with Occupiers, via webcam and chat, about what it means to be living in a growth-based economy on a finite planet. If it is not sustainable to grow forever, then what sort of demands should Occupy be making of the system? Do we need fixes, or a complete rethinking of our economy? Do we search for economic justice now, or prepare for an entirely new game?

Any chance we could get this call moved to an earlier time? I find it difficult to stay on so late on the east coast!
